It seems most people in this world have no idea the difficulty of performing many of the amazing feats of daring that a few brave people have accomplished. Surfacing at the pole is one of those amazing feats, and this book does a tremendous job of taking the reader along for the experience. Having been born in summer 1959, I had to keep reminding myself that these brave men had these adventures in the 2 years before I was born, when nuclear submarines were the newest, latest thing in technology. Mr Calvert does well to convey the suspense, the danger, the excitement and tension of proceeding into the unknown. I was kept interested the whole way. A great bargain. Very few typos.
